I can’t praise them enough! Our car has been overheating and we went here to check out the electrical for our cooling system because it was our best guess for what was wrong. He quoted us $90 for the diagnostic which was what we had seen elsewhere, so a very reasonable price. He checked everything thoroughly and found it all working well. He suggested it might be an intermittent problem and to come in as soon as it starts overheating again. Even though he’d spent the time inspecting everything, he didn’t charge us anything! He said that he hadn’t helped us fix the problem so he wouldn’t charge us. I don’t know another mechanic that’s as honest or provides that level of complimentary service.

Our transmission went in our 1982 Volkswagon Van in Salinas on our way to Washington. We feel so fortunate to have found Vic’s Garage. The work was done in a short time. Vic had us on the road again very quickly with a new transmission and clutch for a very reasonable cost. If Vic’s was in our area we would take our cars to him and refer his shop to all our friends

I am so glad I finally found a great mechanic. Vic took my car in and fixed it the same day that I called. I heard a bad grinding sound on the driver’s side of my car, and I imagined the worst. It turned out to just be a loose hub cap – hurrah!. He fixed my brakes over 3 months ago, and everything is still working great. This guy knows the meaning of great customer service. I also love the fact that his shop is so close to the downtown restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend him to anyone who appreciates quality, value, and honesty.

Vic gets Classics! I brought my 1967 Camaro in, yes the cream colored one in the photos, for a water pump issue. Vic was able to press the pulley onto the shaft to correctly align the belts and got me back on the road again. Great, friendly service. I recommend him to my car buddies!

I give this place a 5 stars because he always try to help as much as he can. He give you the best lowest prices. You really don’t have to wait long for him to finish his work. Just depends on what your car really needs. A very nice guy and really knows what he’s doing. I totally recommend you to give him a try.

What I appreciate is the peace of mind of knowing that the repair will be done correctly. My experience with other mechanics is always feeling uncertain whether the repair was done correctly, whether I just wasted good money.

Just had a smog done on my ’05 Saab. Fast and friendly! No waiting area, but there are a couple great coffee shops about a block or two to the west. I didn’t need them as the smog test was done in minutes while I was chatting with another customer. If you need anything done on your car, you need to at least check out Vic’s.

I’ve had my project cars as well as my daily driver repaired at Vic’s. He does great work from mechanical to electrical. His rates are very competitive and his turnaround time far exceeds that of his competitors. I’ve also referred Vic to several friends of mine who now bring their cars to him from San Jose.
